Taisei Kako Co.,Ltd. has developed the high-barrier mono-material tube ‘i-Tube’, which, despite being a single-layer polyethylene tube, possesses high gas barrier properties.
By adopting injection moulding instead of conventional extrusion moulding, i-Tube enables the formation of polygonal-shaped tubes.
Furthermore, the use of digital printing for decoration significantly enhances design flexibility, allowing us to meet a wide range of customer requirements.
Furthermore, while multi-layer extruded tubes are commonly used, their layered structure of different materials makes recycling impossible.
In contrast, i-Tube is a mono-material (PE) substrate coated with a thin film to enhance gas barrier properties. This makes it recyclable, making it an ideal environmentally conscious packaging material.

Features of Digital Printing
- The printer uses CMYK 4 colors + 4 complementary colors, enabling high reproducibility of data and photographs.
- Printing is possible up to the tube shoulder, enabling design integration with the cap
- Printing is possible up to 1mm from the tube bottom edge, enabling nearly full-surface printing
- Smooth and fine gradation printing is possible
- Seamless printing without joints is possible
- Embossed printing (partial or full) is possible
- High-precision QR code printing is possible (QR Code is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.)
- Additionally, since it is digital printing, no printing plates are required (recommended formats are “ai" or "PDF/X-4"; Jpeg is also acceptable)
